Appearance: Sometimes she wears dresses, but often Amu will be wearing boys clothing which will consist of a vest, pants, shirt and a hat. Due to her appearance, Amu is often mistaken to be a tomboy, and sometimes a boy, when in truth she dresses that way because she finds it's easier to move around in pants than a dress.


She has long pink hair which Amu often ties back into a ponytail and wears "X" clips in her hair. However, when in the mood, she will sometimes feel the need to wear one of her heart, spade or clover clips instead.


Personality: Amu has a habit of acting tough and cool, but in truth it's an act. Do to the way she dresses, people often assume she's a tomboy. It doesn't help matters that when she meets someone for the first time Amu gets nervous and will accidentally respond in a rough tone. Thus, people will think she is "cool" girl with an icy attitude.

In reality, Amu is actually shy and gentle and wishes she could act more like a normal girl. She feels lonely that nobody knows her true personality and wishes she could act and discover her true self. Amu is friendly and is happy to make friends with just about anyone. She is a bit of a scary cat, but often tries to hide it in order to act tough and brave. Amu is also very stubborn and refuses to give up on any task easily. Amu is also dependable and will help out anyone who is in trouble, even if it's a stranger.

Due to her constant tough act, Amu is desperately trying to discover who her true self is. In her search she has discovered that she likes regular hobbies like drawing, sports and cooking. For some reason, Amu seems to act differently when doing of these activites. When drawing, Amu becomes much quieter and has a much more calm personality. When playing sports, she acts more playful and even seems to be more honest of her feelings. When cooking, she becomes much more motherly and gentle to those around her. Amu is not sure why this happens or if perhaps one of these changes is the sign of the person she will grow up to be. The idea of changing so much also scares her a bit.

Also, due to a boy she grew up with, she is also gets annoyed easily by cats.


Abilities/Weapons: Though she is not yet an expert, Amu has potential skills in cooking, drawing and in athletics.


She's a fast runner and can move quickly and when needed. Amu also carries a small dagger, given to her by her father. However, since her father assumed she would be a natural, Amu has no idea on how to use it and it quite frankly is terrified that she may be forced to. Amu is strong for a girl her age, due to the constant heavy lifting she had to do in her parents' restaurant.

Weaknesses: Amu can get scared easily. She is not use to showing this side to anyone. She is a normal human and like any normal person, Amu can get injured or killed easily. Amu also gets nervous around heights and will try to avoid them

History: Amu's parents owned a small restaurant in the city of Licere. Since her parents were often busy running the restaurant, Amu was often put in charge of looking after her much cuter younger sister Ami. Although, she also had other responsibilities in helping cleaning the restaurant and waiting on the customers. Due to her constant chores, Amu often wore boy's clothing instead of a dress because she found it much faster and less troublesome to move in. However, because of this her neighbors assumed she was a tomboy at a first glance and unfortunately this also included her parents. In truth, many of the other local kids admire Amu, but thought she was too cool and would not want to hang out with them. This caused Amu to not have many friends and made her feel rather lonely.


However, Amu did have two friends. She was close friends with a girl named Nadeshiko, who was one of the few people who could see Amu wasn't really the tough girl she pretended to be. The girls were close friends, until for reasons unknown to Amu, Nadeshiko's family had to move away. Amu hasn't heard from her friend since and she always wanted to know what ever became of her.

There was also an older boy named Ikuto that hung around Amu and seemed to see through Amu's act. Much to Amu's annoyance, Ikuto would always find ways to tease her constantly and would appear out of the blue like a cat. Amu claimed she didn't like him at all, although she did enjoy his company. Recently, Ikuto left the city on his own although he does send a letter to Amu once in awhile, but Amu is not quite sure what Ikuto is up to and worries about him.

Then, for her 13th birthday, her mother gave her the biggest surprise of her life. She was to join the crew of 4423. Her parents had thought that Amu was mature and old enough to go out into the world and spread her wings. They had thought that the famous wild ship and their tough daughter would be a perfect match and it was a good start for a promising career for Amu.


Amu desperately, tried to talk her parents out of this idea, but it was too late since she was already signed up. Thus, her father gave her a dagger which he assumed Amu would naturally know how to use and was sent to join the crew of the 4423, even though Amu has never been more terrified in her life.
